Dave Brubeck Rewarded With Kennedy Center Honors 2009

Dave Brubeck, the American Jazz pianist gets a tribute of Kennedy Center Honors 2009 on 6th December 2009 in Washington D.C. The ceremony is to be aired on 29th December on CBS.

Dace Brubeck, 89 has been awarded the honor for his unique style of music that ranges from natural to classic to variant to sophisticate. He has his own signature or trademark presentation of composition that includes rhythm and a unique cadence.

Dave Brubeck was one of the honorees this year at Kennedy Center Honors. The event was attended by US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama. The other honorees were Mel Brooks (producer), Grace Bumbry (opera singer), Robert De Niro(actor), and Bruce Springsteen(singer).

The event was packed with many performances by artists like Jack Black, Matthew Broderick, Harry Connick, Jr., Melissa Etheridge, Aretha Franklin, Herbie Hancock, Ben Harper, Harvey Keitel, Frank Langella, John Mellencamp, Edward Norton, Carl Reiner, Martin Scorsese, Martin Short, Jon Stewart, Ben Stiller, Sting, Sharon Stone, Meryl Streep, and Eddie Vedder.
